For those who cherish the history of football, particularly the era before 1980, the name Wim Jansen holds a special place. As a key player in the legendary Oranje team of 1974 and a revered figure in Feyenoord Rotterdam, his legacy lives on in the ‘Wim Jansen Skybox’. This space, a recent addition to stadium De Kuip, serves as a poignant tribute to the late footballer and trainer, preserving his memory for generations to come.
The skybox, realized by architect Maaq from Ridderkerk, exudes luxury and comfort. Our partner, Regoort, provided the lighting and opted for the square tiltable surface-mounted downlight Dea Fauna S Duo above the bar. Inside the skybox, the recessed adjustable Dea Carmenta M provides an atmospheric ambience. Human-centric lighting plays a central role in the lighting plan.
All Karizma Luce luminaires are equipped with the tunable white option, allowing the light colour to be adjusted as desired. In this way, these fixtures contribute in a discreet way to the multifunctionality of the space: perfectly in line with Jansen’s football qualities, who, as a modest strategist, had the talent to let others excel.
The Wim Jansen Skybox is a beautiful example of a space where history, nostalgia and technical innovation meet.
