Few people can say they live in a piece of Dutch heritage. In the centre of Utrecht, six homes have been created inside the former Lubro bread factory. This industrial monument has been transformed into a unique residential environment. What was once a vast, empty factory hall is now a warm and modern place where young families can build their future.

A refined interior concept.

The Home Factory designed these homes. The company developed the interior concept and carried out the execution for several residents. The result is a perfect balance between industrial character and contemporary comfort.

Lighting for heritage homes.

Lighting plays a key role in this transformation. The designers chose Dea Amata S,  a compact recessed downlight with a 68mm cut-out. It provides elegant, glare-free lighting that enhances comfort and atmosphere. With its refined design and low UGR, it fits perfectly into these heritage homes.

They also selected Cira. This adjustable recessed downlight has a 75mm cut-out and a timeless, soft architectural form. Its deep-set light source and 15° tilt allow precise light control. Cira comes in a wide range of finishes and delivers up to 850 lumens. It is ideal for subtle, effective lighting in residential spaces.

A timeless lighting solution.

Both Dea Amata S and Cira combine elegance with performance. Together they create a quiet, architectural lighting language — essential for lighting for heritage homes.
