48v track system integrated in the ceiling

Choosing the right track system: 48V vs. 220V.

At Karizma Luce, we offer both 48V and 220V track systems and luminaires to ensure the perfect lighting solution for every project. While both systems have their strengths, we see an increasing demand for 48V track systems. It’s popularity is due to its sleek design, minimalistic fixtures and option for trimless installation. But when is 48V the right choice, and when is 220V the better fit? Let us help you decide between 48V track and 220v track.

48V: the modern standard in high-end lighting.

Our 48V track system is the modern standard in high-end lighting. With its refined aesthetics, safety, and minimalistic design, it’s the ideal choice for spaces where ambience and adaptability matter. Choose from three versions – recessed trimless (Q2), surfaced and suspended high rail (Q2), and surfaced and suspended mini rail (Q1). Learn more about the difference here. Then select the Karizma Luce 48V luminaires you need.

Choose 48V when you need:

  • Aesthetic & minimalistic design. The fixtures and tracks are smaller and blend seamlessly into modern interiors, even in a trimless version.
  • Safety & low-voltage compliance. Ideal for low ceilings and spaces where people are close to the track.
  • Best for: Hospitality, high-end retail, premium offices, galleries, multi-functional spaces, and architectural projects.

220V: the most universal track lighting system for larger installations.

While 48V is ideal for most modern residential and hospitality applications, there are scenarios where 220V is the preferred choice, such as in retail and commercial spaces. Available as recessed, suspended, or surfaced: the 3-phase or 1-phase track system remains one of the most versatile solutions on the market.

Choose 220V when you need:

  • High power requirements. In large buildings where you need high-wattage and heavier fixtures, 220V is able to handle them.
  • Very long track runs. The 220V track system has a 3-phase option that allows for long distances, where circuits can be controlled individually.
  • Different kinds of control systems or switch options. Supports various control systems such as DALI, EIB, LON, 1-10V (220V Trac Pulse), or phase-cut dimming (3-phase or 1-phase).
  • Track used as a source of power. The track system can also serve as a source of power where electricity is needed.
  • Best for: Large commercial areas, retail stores, warehouses, and commercial buildings.
