In Maribor, Slovenia, stands the Old Vine House, deeply rooted in history and tradition. As home to the world’s oldest grapevine, the Žametovka vine, it represents over 400 years of Slovenian winemaking heritage. The vine’s roots not only connect it to the fertile soil of the region but also to a legacy of craftsmanship and resilience. This inspired the recent renovation, led by architect Stojan Skalicky of Arhisol. The lighting and design honour the building’s past, illuminating its future with carefully chosen architectural lighting solutions.
Tailored lighting for historic spaces.
Integrating modern lighting into such a historic space posed a unique challenge. Our partner KSL – Studio d.o.o. chose Karizma Luce luminaires, for tailored solutions that combine elegance with precision.
- Arte (gobo): This black spotlight, equipped with DMX control, was enhanced with a gobo function to project artworks with impeccable precision. The projection aligns perfectly within the frames, elevating the artistic display. Its warm 2700K light creates a harmonious balance between functionality and atmosphere, making Arte a standout element in this project.
- Arte Surface: A customized surface-mounted version of the Arte luminaire, this model delivers a cooler 4000K light temperature, ideal for highlighting architectural details. Equipped with DMX control, it offers adaptability and sophisticated design.
- Perla: Tailored with a golden reflector, this pendant luminaire with a 2700K light temperature adds a luxurious glow to the interior. The Perla’s warm glow adds depth to the atmosphere and highlights the space’s historical character.
