Professional lighting in 2023. Woman looking at data.

Four things to look out for in professional lighting in 2023.

What do you think 2023 has in store? In the lighting industry, only one thing is certain. And that is constant change! That’s one of the many reasons we love our profession so much. Curious about the things we will focus on at Karizma Luce in 2023? We are happy to share it with you.

01. Even more focus on lighting quality.

In the industry, we see a shift to higher CRI, better colour consistency and more suitable beam characteristics. CRI90+ is going to be the standard, compared to CRI80 some years ago. This upgrade in Colour Rendering Index will more accurately render object colours, displaying them even more precisely. At Karizma Luce, all luminaires already have a CRI of 90 or more. With us, you always get the highest possible light quality, combined with the classiest design. Isn’t that delightful?

02. Being ready for more energy-saving solutions.

In addition to improving product properties the correct use of smart control systems is also key to more efficiency. It’s our job to create the best luminaires that are prepared for all control systems like Casambi and Dali. Nowadays, Human Centric lighting is not on the level the industry thought it would be 5 years ago, so there is still a lot of potential. Smart control options and sensors can make a huge difference in reducing energy consumption even further. We expect that the benefits of this will be applied even more by end-users in 2023.

03. Investing in more testing.

As you know, in professional lighting reliable data is everything. That’s the reason we are testing our products through and through, simply because we want them to meet exactly the specifications we promise you. Reason for us to invest even more in our own laboratories and measurement devices. We want to stay ahead, by constantly improving the mechanical, electronic, optical or thermal parameters of every luminaire you order. Based on safe and sound data that you can rely on.

04. Reducing our environmental footprint.

Professional lighting is shipped all over the world, in huge quantities. The result? A sizable environmental footprint. Fortunately, measures are being taken in the industry. And so do we. Not only on product level (by using only recycled aluminium for all products) but also in our packaging methods and energy consumption.

We are now using multipacks (more components in one box). This helps reducing the environmental footprint of each item. We also replaced the plastic protection sacks with soft paper. And instead of plastic bubble foil, we now use recycled old cartons as filling material. Our boxes are made from eco cardboard, without any plastic lamination. Also, our headquarters in Joure is almost completely self-sustainable. Most energy is generated by our own solar panel park on our roof. We switched away from fossil fuels completely. This is how we reduce our footprint, step by step.

Any questions or comments? Please let us know! We are looking forward to delighting people in 2023, together with you.
