Why Karizma Luce Supports an Open Approach to DIALux
Lighting design is about precision, creativity, and freedom of choice. At Karizma Luce, we believe that great lighting plans are created by combining luminaires from different manufacturers. Each luminaire is chosen for its specific quality, not just its brand. That’s why we’ve decided not to register inside the DIALux software, even though all our files are fully compatible.
For manufacturers, registering with DIALux is a costly process. As shown on business.dialux.com, brands must pay high fees to appear on the platform for all users, regardless of whether they have a fee or not. While some companies may benefit from this visibility and quick access to files, we prefer to invest in the quality of our data, the development of new products, and improvements to our luminaires, rather than paid placements.
DIALux, however, offers a much more open system to designers. Anyone can import standard LDT or IES files from any brand, not only those listed. With just a small yearly fee (dialux.com), designers gain full access to all design features. You’re free to choose any luminaire based on lighting needs, not marketing visibility.
This is the approach we support. All Karizma Luce luminaires, including the adjustable Casa M Swing, come with downloadable LDT files directly on the product page. These files are measured in-house and ready to use in DIALux, Relux, or any simulation tool.
Our goal is not to lock you into an ecosystem. Instead, we aim to provide you with clear and precise data, along with the flexibility to mix and match products as needed. Hospitality spaces, galleries, boutiques, and homes all require different types of lighting. With an open design approach, you can find the best match for each application.
