New bollard lighting | Sera Core & Via
Bollard lighting has to do several things at once. It should provide enough light for orientation and safety, remain comfortable to look at and withstand the conditions of its environment. At the same time, the luminaires become part of the landscape and architecture, day and night.
With the new Sera family, Karizma Luce introduces two distinct approaches to bollard lighting: Sera Core and Sera Via. Both are designed for pathways, gardens, and architectural outdoor spaces, but their different light distributions let designers choose how the surrounding area is illuminated.
Sera Core: Light around the luminaire
Sera Core uses a covered light source to provide comfortable illumination with very low glare. Depending on the project, it is available with either 180° or 360° light distribution.
The 180° version directs light toward one side of the luminaire, making it suitable for pathways, boundaries, and other areas where illumination is primarily needed in one direction. The 360° version distributes light around the bollard and works well in open areas where you need light on all sides.
With three different heights, the same design can be used throughout a project:
• Sera Core S: 250 mm
• Sera Core M: 600 mm
• Sera Core L: 1000 mm
The compact S version sits discreetly in gardens and terraces, while the taller versions provide greater visual presence along pathways and in larger outdoor areas.
Sera Core delivers up to 1124 lm and combines IP65 protection, IK10 impact resistance and C5 corrosion resistance, making the family suitable for demanding outdoor environments, including coastal applications.
Sera Via: Light exactly where it is needed
Sera Via takes a different approach. Instead of distributing light around the luminaire, its asymmetric optical system directs the light to one side.
This lets you illuminate a pathway or adjacent surface while limiting unnecessary light in other directions. The controlled distribution also produces no upward light, helping to reduce unwanted spill light and light pollution.
The light source remains shielded from normal viewing angles, resulting in very low glare and comfortable illumination.
Sera Via is available in two heights:
• Sera Via S: 350 mm
• Sera Via M: 750 mm
Both versions use a 12 W optical system delivering up to 1080 lm. With IP65, IK08 and C5 corrosion resistance, and a marine-grade surface treatment, Sera Via is designed for residential, architectural, coastal and other demanding outdoor environments.
Designed for demanding outdoor environments
Outdoor luminaires face much more than rain. Humidity, salt, pollution, and physical impact can all affect long-term performance.
For this reason, both Sera families combine robust ingress protection with high corrosion resistance. Their C5 classification makes them especially suitable for demanding environments where standard outdoor protection may not be enough.
At the same time, their impact resistance reflects their different constructions: Sera Core reaches IK10, while Sera Via is rated IK08.
One family, different ways to shape outdoor light
Sera Core and Sera Via share a restrained architectural design, but they solve different lighting requirements.
Core provides comfortable illumination around the luminaire through 180° or 360° distribution. Via takes a more directional approach with asymmetric optics and no upward light.
Together, they give lighting designers greater freedom to choose not only how much light an outdoor space needs, but also where that light should go.
