Dea Eros S TU-in

Directional sphere.

Karizma Luce Dea Eros S TU-in is a recessed adjustable spotlight designed with a distinctive spherical form that gently extends below the ceiling. With a 55° tilt, 355° rotation, and a 40° medium beam, it delivers targeted illumination with freedom of movement. It is comfortable for spaces with limited ceiling depth and ideally suited for lighting wall art, shelving, indoor plants, or bedside areas in homes, flats, hotel rooms, or galleries.

The exclusive black or elegant white housing can be paired with reflector finishes in gold, silver, chrome, white, copper, glossy black, or matt black. It delivers glare-controlled illumination with a luminous flux of up to 810lm. Dea Eros S TU-in is available in high CRI single CCT or dim-to-warm. Select a suitable driver to control the luminaire according to your project requirements.

What flicker really means — and why we test every driver

Not all flicker is visible — but it still affects light quality. In LED lighting, flicker refers to rapid fluctuations in brightness. You may occasionally notice it as a shimmer or subtle pulse, especially while dimming. However, most flicker happens at high frequency and goes unnoticed. Even so, it can still lead to discomfort, eye fatigue, or reduced concentration over time.

How Karizma Luce approaches flicker testing

At Karizma Luce, we test every driver type before approving it for use. For luminaires like Dea Eros S TU-in, we evaluate flicker behaviour under real-world conditions. This includes testing across all dimming levels, colour temperatures, and realistic load scenarios. Our in-house lab uses calibrated sensors and high-speed equipment to ensure visual stability — not just at full power, but throughout the entire dimming curve.

Which metrics are used in flicker testing?

We assess flicker using two well-known metrics:

  • Percent flicker – shows how much the light output varies within one cycle
  • Flicker index – a unitless value (0–1) that reflects both amplitude and waveform shape

Here is how you can interpret the results:

Flicker LevelPercent FlickerFlicker IndexRecommendation
Very low0–1%0.00–0.01Imperceptible; ideal for all applications
Low1–5%0.01–0.05Excellent for interiors and hospitality
Medium5–10%0.05–0.10Acceptable in indirect or functional zones
High10%+0.10+Avoid in living areas or visual tasks

What about European standards?

In addition to flicker index and percent flicker, we also check advanced metrics like PstLM and sVM. These are part of European norms such as IEC TR 61547-1 and EN 61000-3-3. While not always included in datasheets, these values help ensure safety and comfort — especially in architectural or professional environments.

You can read more about PstLM and sVM in the Dea Eros S ME-in DID YOU KNOW section.

Requesting a flicker report

If your project requires documented performance, we can provide a detailed flicker report on request. This includes sVM, PstLM, percent flicker, and flicker index — all measured on the exact configuration you specify. Simply reach out via our Contact page and we’ll assist you.

With Dea Eros S TU-in, you’re not just selecting a luminaire with excellent design. You’re also choosing a system with verified comfort and silent performance — at every dimming level, in every detail.
