Karizma Luce Dea Eros S TR is a compact adjustable spotlight for 3-phase or 1-phase track systems. Its distinctive spherical design adds a gentle touch to hospitality and residential interiors. Perfect for hotels, restaurants, lounges, private homes, or exclusive golf and sports clubs, it brings focused, refined illumination to spaces with lower ceilings and elegant detailing.

The luminaire delivers up to 810Lm through a 40° medium beam, providing glare-controlled light with high visual comfort. It is available in black or white housing, with reflector finishes in gold, silver, chrome, white, copper, glossy black, or matt black. Control options include on/off, phase cut, DALI, or Casambi. Except for standard CCT, it is also offered in dim-to-warm for warm, atmospheric lighting. Select the ideal setup and create spaces that invite and impress.

What is phase-cut (TRIAC) dimming?

Phase-cut dimming, also called TRIAC dimming, is one of the most popular methods of controlling light levels. It allows users to dim luminaires with a standard wall dimmer, without the need for advanced control systems or additional wiring.

How does phase-cut dimming work?

TRIAC stands for “Triode for Alternating Current.” It is a small electronic component that controls the voltage flow in a circuit. Phase-cut dimming works by cutting part of the electrical wave that powers the luminaire. The more of the wave is cut, the lower the light output becomes. This method provides direct and effective control over light intensity.

Where is phase-cut dimming used?

Lighting designers often use phase-cut dimming in residential spaces, restaurants, retail shops, and boutique hospitality interiors. It provides smooth dimming and an easy setup without complex control systems. This makes it a practical choice for smaller projects or areas where basic control is sufficient.

Phase-cut dimming in track lighting

Phase-cut dimming works in both 1-phase and 3-phase track systems. However, Dea Eros S TR from Karizma Luce includes a specific solution. Its phase-cut driver is integrated directly into the track adapter, available only for 3-phase track systems. Therefore, Dea Eros S TR can only be used as a phase-cut option for 3-phase tracks.

When is phase-cut dimming the right choice?

This solution saves installation space and ensures a clean ceiling appearance. Moreover, it provides an easy and fast setup. The user connects the luminaire to a compatible wall dimmer for complete control.

However, phase-cut dimming offers basic control only. It does not provide system feedback, scene-setting, or app-based control. For projects requiring intelligent control and wireless features, you can choose DALI or Casambi control.
