Casa XS Swing

Deep impression.

Karizma Luce Casa XS Swing is a miniature recessed tiltable downlight designed for refined residential and hospitality interiors. Its IP44 rating makes it suitable for humid spaces such as bathrooms, wardrobes, corridors, and compact architectural zones. With a 40mm cut-out and 30° tilt, it provides precise, low-glare light control in the smallest spaces. Available in black or white, it integrates effortlessly into any interior.

The luminaire delivers up to 190Lm and features beam angles of 10°, 20°, and 30°—perfect for targeted highlights or soft, directional lighting. Its aluminium housing and integrated lens ensure clarity and long-term performance. Casa XS Swing is available in single CCT. Driver options include on/off, phase-cut, or DALI. Multiple luminaires can be connected in series to a single driver. Ensure adequate space is planned for driver installation during design. The result is compact lighting with quiet flexibility and refined intent.

What Is EMC and Why Does It Matter in Lighting Design

Understanding EMC in Compact LED Luminaires

EMC stands for Electromagnetic Compatibility. It describes a product’s ability to function correctly in its environment without emitting or receiving disruptive electromagnetic interference. Every driver, LED module, and control system generates a small amount of electromagnetic energy. If not properly managed, these emissions can affect nearby devices such as routers, audio systems, or other luminaires.

Why Driver Placement and Cable Length Matter

This becomes especially important when one driver powers several luminaires. While this setup may simplify installation, it also increases the risk of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) issues. Long cables, unshielded wiring, or incorrect grounding can cause unwanted interference. This is particularly relevant in compact luminaires such as Casa XS Swing—for example, when you want to connect several units to one driver in serial connection, or when the driver must be placed further from the light source. These factors can lead to flickering, dimming errors, or interference with nearby systems.

Preventing EMC Issues Through Careful Planning

EMC is not only about emission levels. It also includes the product’s immunity to external signals. In hotel rooms, shops, or residential interiors, poor EMC performance can affect Wi-Fi, audio, or smart control systems. That’s why good EMC planning is essential, especially when sharing a driver across multiple fittings.

To minimise risk, follow key guidelines: keep cable lengths within the limits set by the driver manufacturer, typically no more than 2–3 metres. Use shielded cables for longer runs. Avoid placing LED power cables close to data or audio lines. Ground the system correctly. And always confirm that your complete wiring layout—not just the individual product—is EMC compliant.

Casa XS Swing and EMC Best Practices

Casa XS Swing is tested with its recommended drivers to meet EMC requirements. However, if your installation involves longer wiring distances or multiple luminaires on one driver, extra care is needed. If you’re not sure whether your planned layout follows EMC best practices, contact us. Our technical team is here to help you design a reliable and interference-free system.

EMC is more than a checkbox in a datasheet. It ensures that lighting systems like Casa XS Swing deliver consistent, stable performance, without disturbing the technology around them.
