Caro AS

Wallwashing effect.

Karizma Luce Caro AS is a refined track wallwasher designed to create a smooth, vertical light wash across walls, displays, and architectural surfaces. With its cylindrical shape and focused optical system, it offers uniform light distribution—ideal for galleries, museums, boutiques, and retail interiors where walls become part of the story. Compatible with both 1-phase and 3-phase track systems, it brings light to the background with precision.

The luminaire delivers up to 680lm and is available in single CCT. Offered in black or white, it supports on/off, phase-cut, DALI, or Casambi control. A high-efficiency track spot with a wallwashing effect that blends into the ceiling, letting the illuminated surface speak with clarity and presence.

What defines a good wallwasher in lighting design?

Wallwashing provides uniform vertical illumination. It improves the perception of space, highlights materials, and creates balanced general lighting. However, correct wallwashing requires dedicated optics and careful installation.

Wallwasher optics

A professional wallwasher uses a specific asymmetrical optic. It projects light evenly from ceiling to floor. The beam avoids dark zones near the ceiling and prevents bright spots on the lower wall. It provides a soft gradient of light without visible shadows or scalloping effects.

Installation recommendations

Correct installation is essential. The typical distance between the luminaire and the wall is 200–500mm. The exact position depends on the ceiling height and the wall material. Luminaires should be installed in a continuous line or carefully calculated pattern to ensure beam overlap and uniform coverage.

Wallwashers on track — additional flexibility

A key advantage of track-mounted wallwashers, such as Caro AS, is their adjustable position. In spaces with different ceiling heights or specific wall finishes, the wallwashing effect can be easily adapted by moving the luminaire along the track. This allows precise control of the starting point of the light on the wall and ensures a uniform result — even in challenging architectural conditions.

Common mistakes

Incorrect wallwashing often happens when standard downlights or wide-beam luminaires are used near walls. This creates bright spots on the floor, uneven light on the wall, and high glare. Without the correct optic and positioning, the wallwashing effect is lost.
